Year 2005 In Review
I actually am not in the mood to write this long entry, as the title suggest, coz of some stuff that happened juz a couple of days ago. But since I have made a promise, I gotta keep it. So here goes…

Things
My new PC. It is one of the best things I got this year man. I enjoy the speed, though I dun have broadband connection yet, I’m already contented. Thanks to Yenmao for his help.

My new digicam. Another best thing for me. Syioknye! I wanna thank Glenn for providing me with the digicam review website. Oh yeah, thanks to Phoebe for those cam information too. For the rest who had ‘contributed’ some info, you know who you are and thanks.

Valentine’s Day
Had a great valentine’s day this year with the angels, Audrey and Joanna. We knew we wouldn’t be having lunch and chat like such anymore for a long time, we cherished those moments a lot. I actually miss those times…

Prom
Oh wow, prom is awesome! I had a great night man. So many cun guys..haha jk. I miss those moments at the prom. Attending a prom with my good frens Joanna and Audrey was so cool and memorable. Almost got a cool prom date but damn, I should have changed the way I answered his ‘do u have a date’ question or else I might stand a 0.1% chance. Again I’m jk ;p Ishhh…But it’s ok, at least he never forget about me during the night ;p Thanks to my dance date for the night. Oh yeah btw, I have lost touch with those german frens. I wonder if Joanna has their contact or whatsoever…would like to meet them again.

Prom

Songs
The number one song this year award goes to…..Boulevard Of Broken Dreams by Green day. I luv that song and I still do…very much. Gavin Degraw rocks, his songs are great and not forgetting “My humps” too. No James Blunt for me pls, I would switch radio station whenever I heard that ‘You’re Beautiful” song hahaha. But somehow, I’m starting to like it a bit now coz of the meaning it carries.

Trip
My graduation trip to Genting Highlands was also a trip to remember. We got to enter the casino finally..after 21 years ;p I miss the trip. But I dun miss having to carry my heavy baggage. Thanks to CheeWee and Kane for volunteering to help. The next time I’m going on trips, I’ve learned from Siewlin, that’s to divide them into 2 bags instead. Good idea!

Clubbing
I went to Beach Club last year and this year, me and my frens hit Zouk. I like calling this the ‘annual clubbing session’ hehe. This year’s one was especially cool of coz the experience of being on the podium. My parents have no idea of us going there and walking back to the hotel at 4am in the morning. No way they can know, or else I’ll be so dead, I tell you. Anyway, I can’t wait for the next annual clubbing session…and I wonder if there will still be any…coz many things are changing now, gradually. Everybody’s been busy with work already.

Been to Purebar twice this year. First was during Chinese New Year and the second was juz a few days ago on Christmas Eve. Countdown in pure bar is not as fun as the countdown in Portugese Settlement where I went last Christmas.

Convocation
A day to remember for the rest of my life. The memories still remain fresh in my mind. Waking up at dawn, driving the car in the dark going to Dewan Seri Negeri. Was kinda nervous to go on stage, making my parents beam, taking photos with frens, sweating like what when taking pictures under the sun with the heavy robe on, bla bla bla. Thanks to my photographer, you’re the best man! Lunch at McD after convo with frens was absolutely great, jokes on that day were especially hilarious. I remember I almost cried coz of that. Hahaha…Anyway, too bad some frens couldn’t make it, That particular fren who actually went there but didn’t show up…hmm…I feel bad now about the invitation in the first place. Anyway, thanks a lot to all who came to share the joy :-)

Jobs

First interview required me to go on the street in Ong Kim Wee to raise fund for WWF..duh. After 2 months of intensive job hunting, I got one in Sudong (Singtel) as a customer service officer. I started working in Aug and left for Cubic in November. Days in Singtel was kinda ok though the job sucks…we had a lot of training so for the 2 months I was there, most of the times we were undergoing training and were not really working though. Frens I made there are really nice ppl, we helped each other with work a lot. I’m still keeping in touch with a few of them. This brings to the next topic.

Friends
I asked myself a couple of times about why I accepted the job at singtel when it’s kinda far away and the job is not in my interest. Was it really becoz I was extremely bored at home and for the sake of learning new stuff? Perhaps yeah. But I’m so glad being there coz if I din, my life would be more chaotic as there won’t be this fren to help me kemas-kemas the chaos everyday. Hahaha. I’m referring to my ex-colleague, Cynthia. I mean if she wasn’t there with me almost everyday that time during the ‘depression’, I dunno what will happen to me. She doesn’t mind sharing a lot of her life stories with me too. Now, though I’m already fine, she still assures me, like some of my frens, that she will alwiz be beside me. Her support has been tremendous…

KFC1

This year, I got to know Michelle in Singtel too, she too, has helped me a lot in regardless of work or non-work matters and I really appreciate them. In return, I hope I will be able to help her in her personal problems too, eventhough there’s nothing really much I can help on. Pls know that you can reach out for me by all means and I'll be ready to listen k.

*Can’t put pic of her :-(*

And of coz not forgetting Serene. We’re childhood frens but we lose touch until I met her in Singtel, then her contract ended and got accepted into Cubic. Though she was only in Cubic for less than a month, our frenship grows. Hey gal ,when is your blog coming out?

Now, these are all the ‘tops’ and the ‘most’ of the year. (All listed in random orders)

Top2 Jokes of the year (might not sound funny now, but was really funny to me somehow)
1.The ‘Tyco Association’ joke during lunch after my convocation ceremony. It was about the audience cheering when you go on stage to receive your scroll. My frens were suggesting to cheer for Ashwin (TYCO) while doing that ‘kau tau’ thingy and in the end, those who did it will kena gari keluar the hall and masuk lokap for entering Tyco Association, the ajaran sesat.

2.There was this Cantonese movie where there are 4 ladies by the name of Gucci, Prada, Dior and (if you dun get that, they’re the famous and branded clothing lines). My sis was making fun of me and named me ‘Fendi’ (it’s a famous one too and I dunno why since she wanna makes fun of me). So I gave her one as well…I called her…The Reject Shop.Wahahahaha :-)

Silliest thing done by me
To think that doctors have the cardboard thingy pasted on the door to tell others where he is…just like what lecturers do hahahaha. And I was wandering around in the hospital and actually went to a doctor’s room to check that out. Yikes.

Top5 Surprises of the year
1.“Hey happy 22nd birthday. Hope you have a wonderful year ahead”-An SMS

2.Wafi coming to my seat during Reshmonu’s performance to give me that chance to go out to the dance floor to dance. (Oi..booking’s deposit belum bayar lagi tau..hehe..joking)

3.Got a poem for my birthday (though I only realized it’s a poem after some time ;p)

4.That there are still frens who still stick with me thru thick and thin ;-)

5. Meeting back a childhood fren after so long.

Most 'Sampat' Moment
When seeing Vick Malaysian Idol at the hotel lobby on my prom night. Paiseh…was juz 21...not surprising :p

Top3 Advises most gotten
1.You think too much/Dun think too much.
2.There is forest out there.
3.We’re alwiz supporting you.

Surprising phrase ppl did not say much about
Go get a job!!

Top3 received SMSes of the year (juz snippets)
1."No matter wat u still got me :-)"
2.“I’m with you thru think and thin”
3.Not so convenient to share. It’s in Chinese. But I do take it as one of the tops.

Most meaningful quote by a fren
"You must alwiz think…he/she is happier without you." (Maybe it's true. Hey fren, that's a really big sacrifice…I know you are thinking that way too but only say that when you have given a real fight and have tried your best to win her heart and not juz sitting back and having that line in mind ok, I’m sure you know what to do hehe)

Most Embarrassing Incident
Following closely behind some guy frens and was so close to entering the gents with them coz it was too dark in Zouk. *shaking head* Wahahaha….thanks Audrey..for ‘pulling’ me outta there in time ;p (Aiyo…very dark maaa~hahahaha)

Most sudden shocking question ppl asked
DO YOU HAVE URGE? WHY NO? (oh my goodness…you know who you are ok..)

Best Moment/Day of 2005
It lasted for only about a couple of hours. It’s better than prom; it’s better than chocolate; it’s even better than Zouk; Sorry for I can’t tell and share the joy with you all. (Dun go ask Cynthia ok keke) That’s the best day, but sometimes I cry thinking about it hahaha.

Best movie of the Year
I have not watched all movies shown in the cinema but I still feel Star Wars wins hands down. Superb graphic and jeng jeng..Darth Vader is born ;p

Misc
I learned a lot of things too. In fact, I have been learning all year round. One thing is that…words can cause misunderstandings as they can be read with diff voice tone, and diff voice tones carry diff meanings. I will treat everything as a learning process. Also, a fren told me that everything has its two sides. It depends on which side you choose to view it from. I would prefer the bright and positive side of everything though. I hope all of you would choose the same as well.

There are things happened this year that I miss very very much and I know they might not happen anymore in the coming years becoz every year there will be smth new, and we won’t know what is in store for us. Let us all pray for the best and nothing but the best. Belif that good things will come your way and live life to the fullest. I personally foresee the year ahead to be a nightmare…I have close frens standby-ing me already for that, belif it or not. Really. I will be tough, I will try my best to stay as strong as I could though I can smell the fear and it has already overpowering me now.

Lastly, I might have wrongdoings or offended anybody, I apologize. Know that I din mean to be “chou ren” (ugly ppl) I’m open to learning the mistakes if there’s any and like I alwiz say, I’m alwiz trying to be a better person everyday. Vice versa…in the future, do I need to let frens know what are their mistakes or should I juz buat bodo and tutup sebelah mata in the case where they are really at fault? Or will I get screwed after that? Hahaha I’m clueless man. Neh-my-la, I shall know that to do when the time really comes ;p

Happy New Year to my loyal readers who stay with me thru the years. I will keep in mind not to spell ‘Corkscrew’ as ‘Cockscrew’ anymore next year onwards if I happen to use that word again muahahahahaha. Happy New Year 2006 again ppl!!

What A Christmas!
I attended a long time fren's wedding dinner. I know her since our primary school, then same secondary schools, same university, same faculty but different major. The bridegroom is in FBL too, same major as hers. How nice huh! I know him but then I seldom talked to him. Anyway, she invited about 12 of us, the primary school classmates.

Group 3

I did take photos with the newly weds alone but my cam's battery had gone flat at the very wrong time. But the photos are there in my fren's cam though. B4 taking any photos, I did check the battery level and it was half full. I can't be recharging them as they might get spoiled fast that way. I guess maybe after taking several group photos before that had caused my battery to die off.

U know..whenever I attend any fren's wedding dinner, I would feel one kind wan. I'll be wondering and thinking if I'll ever have the chance to stand on the stage like the bride. And if I do, is the guy standing beside me the one I truly love. Hmm…dunno lor. Anyway, I'm happy for the new couples out there. Wishing them 'bai tou dao lau, xing fu kuai le' (translation: white hair till old, bahagia dan gembira) Wahahaha…

We're sitting under the speaker and could hardly talk. We were basically shouting to each other and also wondering why ppl's bf so uncle-ish.. Fyi, some gals brought their bfs along. So much to catch up with frens we dun see often. As for my class teacher, eventhough she is no longer teaches me but somehow I'm still traumatized by her way of teaching back then and her garang-ness. I din kena pukul la but still I'm quite scared of her hahaha. Btw, we left our tables to go take photos though I dun really agree as the food belum serve habis and I was still a lil hungry hehehe. But no choice.

Most of the gals already had plans for the night. So me and 2 other frens decided to go to PureBar. I guess some of you should know them, they were from GBS…Tan Yi Jing and Wee Yu Ying. It was Yu Ying's idea to go to the new Purebar and checked it out coz a fren of ours was already there and since no one wasn't interested, so we went there and waited for the countdown. (Dun tell this to my parents especially ok hehe, Jenny, dun tell your mom also ah) As some of you have noticed the renovation done in Purebar, they have a second floor now. You can see it from outside. To go up to that nicely designed 2nd floor, Rm50 is needed per head I think. We won’t want to waste our money on that man, plus we won’t want to spend our money on drinks too. Anyway, Yu Ying and I went opposite to Jack D to meet Team B. Kamao was surprised to see me there wahahahaha. I'm sure some of you know that I find the taste of alcohol sucks but then it tasted well to me last night. I downed half a cup. Damn, I had quite abit of alcohol this week. I went to my colleague's open house on Thu night and I already had a cup of red wine there.

This year's xmas is kinda diff coz I did shopping for xmas gifts. I got 5 presents though, for frens and Singaporean young cousins. I pokkai di for this month, serious and I dun have time to go withdraw money. Bleh..

On Christmas day today, I met up with a fren (can’t tell name) whom I haven't seen for ages until today. We had pizza for dinner. She got me a Christmas gift and so did I hehe. She got too much to share that we are now planning to hang out again tomorrow, perhaps in Starbucks. Also, tomorrow I have plans with Michelle and Cynthia but I’m not so sure if the plan can work. I’m still waiting for confirmation…

Phew…what a snowy(fake snow spray) yet wonderful Christmas! I'm already getting a lil exhausted.

1st Big Work Assignment
Today’s Friday, and tomorrow is Saturday!! Woohoo~

Christmas is getting closer and closer now, Christmas trees with ornaments, LED light bulbs, all the decorations are up by now in my company’s main building entrance. They hanged socks at the door knots too :-) I was told that we’re not allowed to take pics at the reception area which has also been decorated but shhh…tell nobody ok..I’ll try to get some shots hehe..shhhh~ U dunno me meh..I very jahat one, kakaka :p

The only thing I can remember about this week’s work…and already have phobia of…is the scanning thingy. It’s the end of the year now, so we gotta do TNI, which stands for Training Needs Identification and TNA, Training Needs Analysis. We will need to scan training brochures given by external training providers and training consultants. I was basically in front of the PC in the resource center on wed, thu and today, scanning these 13cm high pile of brochures, piece by piece, it all in the end sum up to 245 records. If you think 200 pieces are nothing, if u think is ‘sap sap water’ case, u just try to do it and see hehe. Then, next week onwards, we will upload these brochures that are saved in jpeg files to the newly created intranet web. It is a website just being designed and created by the IT personnel for us. Then, the staff can log in to the web and they have to identify their own training needs (means what training they think they need in year 2006). They can choose the training programs themselves by viewing these attached training brochures (scanned by me lor). After they have chosen, me and my supervisor will do the analysis and arrange the training for them in 2006.

I wonder if you readers actually read the previous paragraph and if you all understand the process. It’s ok…you will understand if you’re already in the workforce. Everybody will go thru that afterall.

Ho ho ho, guess what? You know what my supervisor told me juz now? She was smirking one kind and said this : “大姐很看得起你噢”. Direct translation: “Big Sister looks highly on you oh” Well, big sister is my manager, we call her ‘da jie’. I was like “huh..what happen ar”. Rupa-rupanya, my manager has assigned me a BIG assignment/task!! This is my first BIG task since I joined Cubic, you know.

My manager wants me to give a briefing (that means presentation) about that new web-based training application which I have juz blogged about above. The thing is…I’m not presenting and speaking in front of the operators, or some non-exempt staff, instead I’ll be briefing SUPERVISORS and MANAGERS from all departments. Oh! My! Gawd!

I have done presentation in front of coursemates and lecturers but HOD ( Head of Departments)?? All the managers will then know my existence in Cubic. Well, I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing, instead it’s a good opportunity man. Either they will know me as the poor presenter or the ok-lah presenter. But I will definitely put full effort in preparing for the briefing and give my best. I’m only worry if those HOD start throwing me questions I dunno how to answer. I’m also very very new to the system, I may not know it myself. Mann, I really need to familiarize myself with it in the first place.

I dunno if my supervisor is really fine with that delegation done by the manager. She was the one who liase with IT personnel on how she wants the system to be what title to put and stuff. She knows much more about the system than me. I’m still fresh and green in the company ok. She told me this.

Supervisor: Da jie remembers what you told her during the interview. You said you are ok with public speaking. Now she is asking you to give the briefing already. Your English better, so she asks you to do it.

My supervisor seems ok with everything. I guess she is glad that I’m the one who gotta present and not her. But, I hope no jealousy cases will creep in man…

I hope I dun sound overly confident here. Coz I’m NOT really THAT confident anyway. I’m juz motivating myself wahahaha. Anyway, I will try my very best. I got abit takut leh, but I wont waste this golden opportunity to prove to all that I am a capable employee. I need to carry out this task well, I need to leave my manager with a good impression. I need to do this well enuf to get confirmed man. If ever things go wrong, sigh. My confirmation will be less promising adi. Shaky status. Gosh, the more I think of it, the more stressful I will be. Oh no~~

I’m excited about it at the same time ;p

Nice Morning Out
Had breakfast with Cynthia this morning. Today is a Saturday and I’m supposed to wake up really late though hehe. I need more sleep nowadays!! But then, to meet a good good fren or to sleep and dream about things that are not gonna happen, I rather pick the former than the latter hahaha and I did.

We met up at the mamak shop beside Senyum Hyper here around 9am and her husband was there too but me and her kept on talking non-stop from the moment we saw each other. She updated me so much about her job and Singtel’s interesting happenings for more than 2 hours.

Singtel huh…so many gossips and stories man even after I left that company. In my department, there are actually 2 team leaders and the latest gossip is that one of them is a lesbian. Wahahaha..OMG! Her lesbian partner is actually my ex-colleague who had also resigned yesterday together with Cynthia. (Cynthia and her had resigned and yesterday was their last day in singtel) And she also told me smth about backstabbing among the ppl there, who had quitted, who coupled up with who and so many more.

Remember my Singtel admirer that I once blogged about? Guess what, I just got to know about this..not only that few malay gals, me and Cynthia, the whole department had got to know about it. Gawd knows how they knew it. One thing for sure, gossips and news do spread fast man. *tsk tsk* Then, my TL told Cynthia to tell me not to accept him if he ever comes after me coz he is not a good guy or smth. Whatever. Hahaha…yeah nobody has to worry about me accepting anybody yet though coz I’m *single but not really available. (*frasa tidak tertakluk kpd kesemua keadaan) Eh..how to say that in English ar? Mana gua tau..mungkin besok atau malam ni jugak gua dah kembali available cam dulu-dulu masa Alpha. Kakaka~

I had to go to the temple in the afternoon so me and Cynthia gotta stop our chatting. The funny thing was, after we took some photos and said our bye, we continued a lil bit more by sms and with those miss u-miss u kinda thing hahaha..And that now her husband had drawn me a map to their house in Tj Minyak, I could drop by to lepak-lepak. I guess WE are becoming like lesbian, instead of that team leader man *omg* Dun worry, I still like guys and only guys *wink wink* Anyway, the temple trip was postponed though, I’ll only make a trip there tomorrow. Aiseh or else today we din have to stop there…we’ve only covered well I think 50% of what we have intended to update each other. Chat to be continued for sure…

Anyway, my fave festival is just around the corner, let’s welcome Christmas together! No plans yet for the moment and I’m not gonna plan anything though. My colleague who is the Christmas committee in Cubic told me that there’ll be Christmas tree in the reception area next Monday onwards and also there’ll be Christmas song played everyday from 5.45pm (15 mins before we call it a day at work) I hate to have that Christmas feel and at the same time thinking it’ll be nothing but juz another typical day.

Maybe I’ll stay home to work on my ‘2005 Year In Review’ post. You can look forward to stuff like “Top 5 smses”, “ Most Shocking thing ppl did”, “Silliest thing done/asked”, “Top 5 quote of the year”, “Best day in 2005”, “Best discovery”, “Most memorable moment in 2005”…..macam macam lagi. Also, not forgetting about my resolution for Year 2006. Maybe it’ll be a secret to keep, or it’s smth that can be shared, I dunno coz I haven’t really thought about it…hahaha :p

I wanna go holiday on either Christmas weekend or the New Year weekend coz for that both weeks, I’ll be having 3 days off from work consecutively which is on Sat Sun Mon. Shopping in KL maybe? The thing is...damn I can’t seem to find kaki to go with. I have some MMU frens working in KL who offered to bring me around KL but I dun really like the idea of going alone from Malacca. Whoever is gonna bring me for shopping, whether it’s a guy or a gal fren, I’d still prefer to have frens to go there with. Or any Malaccan gals out there who wanna shop till drop in KL can alwiz contact me, we can go together-gether. But you gotta be familiar with KL, at least a lil better than me coz ahem…you get the idea ;p

I’m watching a Singaporean Chinese series every evening and one part of the stories is about an innocent lady who is happily married to a guy. She has a best fren/business partner whom she trusts so much and even let her stay at her house. This fren was a murderer back then, she killed her bf becoz he was cheating on her. And becoz of that, she is suffering from some mental disorder, thinking that her bf was killed by this innocent gal. So she is seeking revenge by wanting to seduce her husband and let her suffer for life. It’s interesting haha. It makes me think though. Let’s not talk about best fren who has mental disorder, but normal sane fren. Are your frens really who they are? Are they backstabbing you? Are they actually laufing at your stupidity for trusting them so much? When it comes to the opposite sex, say your bf or your husband, are they doing smth behind your back? Are they trying to flirt without you knowing it? Will they take the info they share with them and make it their own? (I experience it this year with some close fren though)

Btw, I read about this in the recent CLEO magazine my supervisor lent me without me asking from her (nice huh). A gal doesn’t know her best fren actually digs her bf so she’d alwiz tell her things about him. Bottom line is...sometimes it’s wise to not share too much with others. Most importantly, dun reveal too much about yourself too coz you won’t know when ppl will use your weaknesses to kenakan you someday. That’s why ppl say it’s better to keep 10% of your secrets to yourself and only yourself.

Enuf said. Anyway, I’m looking forward to catch up with some frens online tonight. See you if I see you la..bye.
